March Madness

Boy oh boy, it's no wonder they call it "March madness". This month came and went in the blink of an eye. I have so much to show & tell but I'm going to contain myself so I don't have y'alls heads spinning. When I think of March, I think of spring making it's warm entrance, St. Patricks Day, and last but certainly not least, spring break! So aside from school and work, I had been planning my spring break trip. Remember when I said, I would be going on a cruise? Well that didn't happen because some of my lovely but forgetful friends didn't get their passports in due time, but I was determined to make this spring break just as much fun. So we planned a trip to the beach and had a blast. This is what my month of March consisted of.

I was working out overtime for the beach and eating a lot healthier than usual but my sweet tooth was killing me so I found this delicious popcorn as a "healthier" option as opposed to chocolate or a cupcake.

I went to a pool tournament where the host, Krista from Bettie Rocker Cakes, made this pretty cake and tempted me with a big bowl of leftover frosting, which I gave into.

I watched my friend get her nose pierced. Ouch.

I ate a lot of sushi. No, seriously, I have never eaten so much sushi in one month as I did in March.

My friend and I wanted to wear something green and cute for St. Patrick's Day on the beach so we decided to glam up some bandannas. We received so many compliments on them, we might just start making more.

All that hard work I was talking about earlier? It was forgotten when I went grocery shopping for spring break.

I got a pedicure right before I left for the beach but never got a chance to get a manicure, so I bought the Sally Hansen Salon Effects - Real Nail Polish Strips. They were tricky to get on but I was so happy with the results.

Our successful green bandannas.

Off the shoulder tops, shorts and booties are the perfect combination when going for a night/beach look.

My black wedges with ripped jeans and a bright loose tank top.

Louis Vuitton Cruise 2011 Ad

I am in love with the Louis Vuitton Cruise ad for spring. These pictures scream "sophistication", "elegance meets everyday casual" and "ladylike". We, as females, should not forget to always compose ourselves as ladies and while we are at it why not dress the part as well? These pictures should inspire us all. I enjoy feeling ladylike and at times old fashioned, I like to feel dainty and feminine and the outfits in these pictures represent all of that.

Stay classy ladies.

let's rodeo san antonio!

One word to sum up my weekend? Wonderful. Friday night, one of my girlfriends and I decided to have a girls night at a wine bar to chitchat and relax. Am I ever glad I finally decided to check out Wine 101. It's located in Old town Helotes. They have a sitting area outside with bonfires near every table. I'm a fan of white wine so we decided to try their Riesling. We ordered a bottle called Houge. We also had the cheese tray and spent hours talking. It was the definition of a perfect girls night and we will be heading back to Wine 101 very soon.

It's funny how I managed to take pictures of everything but our outfits. I really need to work on that.

Doesn't every girl love surprises? This girl sure does. I was surprised with tickets to the rodeo to see one of my favorite country bands, Eli Young Band. I was a very happy girl on Saturday. He definitely surprised me.

(big smiles)

Eli Young Band.

Again, I manage to take pictures of everything but my outfit. I wore my black cowboy boots with patterned tights, a black dress and a denim shirt over it. I really wish I had a better picture of it.
I promise I will work on that. Hope y'all enjoyed your weekend as much as I did.

Don't you love it when...

Not only do I love it when I find a piece of "fashion" for a bargain but I love it even more when I see new ads for spring and see similar pieces coming out. That makes a purchase a success. Flea markets are full of items with potential. You do need to be very open minded because a lot of the time, you find nothing but junk but other times you come home with your new favorite ring, like I did.

Isn't it gorgeous? I also found the first bracelet on my wrist (plain silver plaque) in a container of "junk". I gladly paid the $12 for this ring that the gentleman was asking for, considering I pay $5 or more for rings at mall stores and they are no where near as nice as this one.

Notice her ring? I was flipping through my Glamour magazine and it caught my eye. It looks like my successful find from last weekend. Happy me? Yes.

What's in my purse?

I like to swap out my purses as often as I can, but believe it or not, changing out purses can be a chore. It takes time out of your day and you end up cleaning it out because you have months old receipts and candy wrappers at the bottom of it. I also have no idea how my purses end up weighing fifty pounds, so I decided to narrow down what I really need in my purse. Not only will I not be carrying around a bag that feels like it's filled with rocks but now I can find my things when I need them and not spend fifteen minutes digging through my purse.

Yes, that is all that is left in my current purse...for now. Got to have my Glamour in there for in between classes or waiting in the car, bored. I have my "must have" makeup in my purse, my MAC bronzer (I live by it), my Clinique mascara which I just started using and not quite sure how I feel about it just yet, eyeliner, MAC blush brush and last but not least my absolute favorite lip gloss ever, Twinkle by Chanel. I leave my deodorant in my purse because I am constantly working out, going to work and school. Burt's bees chap stick is an essential. My wallet and glasses of course and some hand sanitizer. This is what I narrowed it down to. Not too bad huh? It is definitely a relief on my shoulder.

Beauty Post

This isn't my typical fashion post but nail polish is definitely an accompanying item to any fashionista. What girl doesn't love pretty fingernails? Getting a manicure is refreshing and always makes a girl feel more girlie than usual. OPI is one of my favorite nail polishes. I love the way they theme every collection they bring out not too mention the clever names they give each color. Well, they have made me so happy I'm writing a post on their new spring/summer collection, the theme is Texas. Yes ladies, that's right, Texas!

The names are as Texan as the colors. I will be picking up some of these colors to try out for upcoming warm weather, since we are having an early spring thanks to Mr. groundhog.

Recent purchases

It's only January but is it crazy that I'm already thinking about spring break? I don't think I'm alone on this one. Even retail stores have started bringing in their new styles for spring 2011. My recent purchases have been bought with spring 2011 subconsciously on my mind. My friends and I are planning to take a cruise to the Bahamas in March for spring break so it felt odd buying a swimsuit in January but I just had to have it. I went to Target to buy a planner for the new year and left with a swimsuit.
Bandeaus are not my preferred style of top but I couldn't pass up the coral combined with sparkly gold and white.

Yesterday I was at forever 21 and just when I thought I'd leave empty handed, I walked by the sales rack, (which I usually don't bother doing because I don't have the patience after going through the whole store as it is) and I found these nautical inspired shorts. I love the way they tie up and the rope gives them a rugged look. I want to find wedges to wear with these shorts to give them that spring touch. Best part? They were on sale. Who doesn't love a good sale item?
Can you tell I'm super excited for spring?
